I have been trying to learn guitar for a very long time. I’m decent at chords and have trouble with tabs and theory. I would LOVE to take lessons, but being a full time student plus work plus the price of lessons does not let me take formal lessons.

Does anyone know a great self-teaching guitar book? Something that is user friendly and can really help me progress in guitar. I want it to teach me not just how to play a specific song, but the theory behind the guitar.

If there is a website that does a better job (with a low membership price) let me know about that also!

Accoustic guitar. I love country music but I’d like to learn any song. It’s just songs I can work on to pass the time in between lessons which I have once a week cause I always learn my chords easily. I don’t have a chord book yet because mine hasn’t come in at the music store so I can’t practice new ones at home.
