Hello and welcome.

My name is Marc Lapierre.

I’m a former banker, international consultant and, more importantly, a closet guitarist. What’s a closet guitarist?

Well I’ve wanted to play the guitar since I was a kid, but didn’t think that I had any talent. My Dad, who was a professional musician and played in big bands to earn his way through university, didn’t just think that I had no talent, he was convinced of that. He threw everything at me – the piano, the saxophone and the clarinet.

Nothing…. Nada, Zip, Zilch. Aside from driving my teachers to drink, I wasn’t really getting it.

But then, I didn’t want to learn Mozart or Chopin on the piano or Davis and company on the horns, I wanted to rock my world and be a guitar hero.

That was sacrilege to my dad since I was growing up in the days when Rock & Roll was Satan’s music. So, it was a solid “no way!”

Eventually I gave up and, better still, Dad finally dropped his obsession of my being a famous musician.

That was years ago and life took over. A house, a wonderful family, but no guitar.

Finally, after retiring, I got the time and the urge to give it another go.

Hey, I may not be great, but I enjoy myself and it relaxes me … sometimes – other times it drives me nuts when I don’t get it. But that’s par for the course and part of the learning experience.

I’m a closet guitarist because I play for myself and my family. No one else and I’m certainly not going to put a video up on the web … well, not just yet anyway.

I hope that you enjoy this site and that it’ll help you in some small way along your journey to living your dream.

Make it a great one.
