@gr8bluesgtr that’s true! a. king was his teacher! Oh, I like very very much how you play, it’s very similar to Stevie and I like that
Nice playing man! I love playing the blues, just might have to give it a shot for the competition!
I really liked you improve phasing I really felt it. I need to work on that: the feel and the sentence phasing. the thing is I feel great most of the time. hence I’m single, lol.
how often do you get fret work done on you guitar/s . is it best to ever get a re-fret, as I’m going in next week to have mine outfitted with 6100 fret wire… your thoughts? anyone?
@gr8bluesgtr Anthony, keep up the great video’s, lessons and all the playing you do. You’re very good at it and its inspirational to a lot of us out here. And don’t waste you’re breath trying to have a conversation with people who will remain un-mentioned because we all know who they are. You like Stevie’s style so you play it. Your choice. Whoever has a problem with it and expresses it on here has nothing better to do then start drama.
Man @ All u haters and non motivators. Mr. A is playing what he loves, and if it sounds like so n so…. so what! You missed the point, he plays damn good. And like all of those still playing, he can only get better while helping others too.
No one has an exclusive on any style… play what you like and play your interpretation of others music is the rarest form of flattery.
Play on Mr.A!
Yeah! I love your tone, it’s such a perfect blues tone and love the Stevie influcence too. The Grosh is a very nice looking Strat, still really want to check those out. Thanks for the entry, I think you should post it as an official response personally
Love the sound WOW!! This should be an entry..to good not to be. Kudos!!
Pretty darn cool, some of your best work i have seen. Allot of different tempo/pick attack etc.
you’re gonna win.
@mistasoreel Right on.
@satjathamma this competition is about community, bringing guitar players from across the world together through music, watching each other and hearing how each person interprets the backing track. Yes there is a reward for the judges’ favourites but it is supposed to be fun, and so far there are a lot of people having fun!
@gr8bluesgtr, Then i guess we have different opinions in life. And, if i’m not agreeing with you on this subject does not mean i have issues as you clearly stated down below
Hey Anthony, that sounded really great! I have been a fan of your playing and your great efforts for quite a while now, and have seen and heard you play various guitars including your cousin’s model which sounds great. I have to be honest though, the sound of that Grosch Strat is IMHO the best. Just pure fluid, awesome stratty tone. Thatnks for what you do, and keep the faith regardless of the few that will always have something negative to say about anything.. Don
@gr8bluesgtr @gr8bluesgtr You see this discussion from time to time; it’s a good one. Maybe our contemporary genre has not been around long enough. Nothing wrong with playing Bach, Mozart, Beethoven etc. They all played someone else as well. So did SRV! I never heard Sinatra sing his own songs! However, he eventually gave them more of a swing style. Yes, honesty is doing what you love.
@gr8bluesgtr this is a good discussion; comes up all the time. I think our contemporary genre (Iump sum) hasn’t been around long enough to fully appreciate out musical geniuses and giants. Certainly not like classical (Motzart, Bach, Beethoven etc.). Standards and Jazz regularly play styles and songs of multiple artist and performers.
You are the master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KILLER stuff there Anthony!!! I loved it!
To be Fan or not to be Fan, that’s the question. There is nothing wrong to play like SRV. Who don’t like his? After all Stevie Ray Vaughan play like Freddie King, Albert King, B.B. King and all other Kings of Blues. The fever of “wanna be” is cool, since you don’t be an artist (professional) without own identity.
Your right hand techniqe is so smooth. Moving the pick in and out, moving the 5 way blade, tone and volume knobs seemlessly throughout the solo is awesome. A great close up view of a variety of required skills in a short time frame.
Thanx
Alright folks, I’ve enjoyed the discussion, but I’m cleaning up the comments to avoid further comments aimed at other player.
Hey Anthony, I really like your playing and your teaching efforts, but promoting competition in music is something that should be avoided in my opinion. There really isn’t a good way to distinguish between players. Many players have different practice habits, time, years put in, etc. Not only that but music is not something that should be competitive, but it should simply be celebrated.
Nice playing there.
Thx for letting us all know about this! Forget a shot at the prizes – at least I get a great backing track to practice soloing over!
I’m in love with your vibrato technique. Wow…
@gr8bluesgtr do you have a lesson going over how to play fast chords like Stevie Ray Vaughan like you did at the end of your solo?
