Hi and welcome to this country guitar lesson on the B-bender guitar also known as string bender. In this video I explain a little bit what the B-bender is, how it works and a couple of simple licks to get you started with it. In the video I mention a video where Gene Parson talks about the history and creation of the B-Bender. Here’s the link: www.youtube.com For more info regarding the B-bender (makers, songs, etc) go to my website: www.dariocortese.com In the last performance you’ll hear my the B-bender going slightly out of tune… I know it, I can hear it.. unluckily that’s not much I could do so please go easy on me. Some benders have that problem.. and mine is one of them! I hope you can still enjoy it… Thanks for watching and if you like what I do check my free website and subscribe to my channels. Dario

Hybrid picking is the use of your pick along with the rest of your picking hand fingers simultaneously. Hybrid picking is used by countless players in all styles of music. Players like Albert Lee, Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, John 5 and Brad Paisley use this technique quite extensively. In this lesson I have adapted Mauro Giuliani’s classic study “120 Daily Exercises For The Right Hand” for hybrid picking. These are the same studies classical guitarists have used for hundreds of years to develop their flawless technique. Now you can do the same with your hybrid picking. This is great lick because you only have to learn Two Chord Forms – and you can extend it out over 12 – 24 bars! Big rewards for just a little work! In the Key of C, and the forms can be used over C, F, G, even D for instant solo work. Got the first part from an Albert Lee instructional set. Played on a B-Bender Telecaster through a Dr. Z Amp.
Hi, in this video guitar lesson I explain the basic of Banjo Rolls very common in country guitar. You’ll find a couple of exercises on how to practice it and how to develop accuracy. As you can see in the video, this technique is normally played using a thumb-pick or hybrid picking (flat pick + fingers). To see the exercise click here: www.dariocortese.com Please check out the other lessons on my website and let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it. Dario

FULL COURSE, TAB, JAM TRACKS: truefire.at More Free Guitar Lessons: bit.ly On Twitter – www.twitter.com On Facebook – www.truefire.com The first piece we’ll study is “Down the Dirt Road Blues” by Charley Patton (Paramount, Richmond 1928). Charlie Patton, better known as Charley Patton was born in 1891 or 1894. He died on the Heathman-Dedham plantation near Indianola, Mississippi, from heart disease on April 28, 1934. Compare the guitar accompaniment to Patton’s “34 Blues,” which is slower but virtually the same. Just about every Charley Patton song has a really cool guitar part in it. “Down the Dirt Road Blues” is no exception – this little 2-bar turnaround riff is a great example of how much fun it can be to play the guitar this way. We’re capoed up one fret and we’re in the key of C. The turnaround should be played in an expressive style, snapping the bass strings (played with the thumb) against the fretboard.
